About the Course

This is the first of seven courses in the Google Advanced Data Analytics Certificate, which will help develop the skills needed to apply for more advanced data professional roles, such as an entry-level data scientist or advanced-level data analyst. Data professionals analyze data to help businesses make better decisions. To do this, they use powerful techniques like data storytelling, statistics, and machine learning. In this course, you’ll begin your learning journey by exploring the role of data professionals in the workplace. You’ll also learn about the project workflow PACE (Plan, Analyze, Construct, Execute) and how it can help you organize data projects. Google employees who currently work in the field will guide you through this course by providing hands-on activities that simulate relevant tasks, sharing examples from their day-to-day work, and helping you enhance your data analytics skills to prepare for your career. Learners who complete the seven courses in this program will have the skills needed to apply for data science and advanced data analytics jobs. This certificate assumes prior knowledge of foundational analytical principles, skills, and tools covered in the Google Data Analytics Certificate. By the end of this course, you will: -Describe the functions of data analytics and data science within an organization -Identify tools used by data professionals -Explore the value of data-based roles in organizations -Investigate career opportunities for a data professional -Explain a data project workflow -Develop effective communication skills...

I have really got a fine refresher through this course. One of the basic idea of preparing PACE strategy document and understanding on RACI matrix was new for me. I recommend this course to every one.

Good intro. Was able to move through quickly to suit my level of comfort with material. Was more about filling in some practical details for me, rather than introducing me to a 'whole new world'.

The course provides a solid foundation in data analysis, but the instructors often skip over small yet important steps or details in each video, making it difficult to fully grasp certain concepts. I have frequently had to rely on AI to gain a clearer understanding.

I didn't find this course useful for the purpose I was looking for: use data and practice how o analyze it. It was more like glossary overview of role taking on a project. Maybe it just wasn't for what I was looking for.

The content was decent and a good reminder. But it was sometimes a bit fluffy and the instructors give these "motivating messages" that are just there to keep you on the course. But overall a good course :).

This isn't really a foundation of data science as much as it is foundation for project management in a data professional role. There is very little actual data science instruction within.

Loads of very good information. Zero application. The Jupiter notebook is not active. Therefore the application to the coding learned is non existent within the certification platform.

Many things are repetitive and can be removed. For example "Role of a data scientist" has several videos and reading material, all essentially talking about same things.

Senti que o curso é muito longo para o que tem de conteúdo: poderia ser muito mais enxugado, mas tem diversas vezes materiais se prolongando sobre o mesmo assunto.

I think the course should introduce different tools, software and libraries used in data science. Also, Different data analysis frameworks should be investigated

The course has too much filler, almost like listening to a podcast instead of taking a proper course. It could be more focused and to the point.

Too much reading that can be done through short videos. Or, those readings could have been more concise.

I think there should be more technical aspects and breaking down of those subjects.

This course should have been titled "How to work in an office at Google". While that's something good to know even if you're not going to work for Google, it doesn't really cover the "Foundations of Data Science" in any meaningful way. Further, the course was full of errors, ambiguities, and things that would only apply in a select few office environments. The quizes seemed to have been designed by someone only familiar with this specific course material and not the subject in general (leading to the above-mentioned errors, ambiguities, etc.) I'm hoping the rest of this certificate program is *much* better as this course was really disappointing.
